Gettin' Sketchy!!!

I am really getting my card stash stocked with all these wonderful sketches I am finding! I did another one for Get Sketchy This one was lots of fun to create with. I used some of the halloween kit from Little Yellow Bicycle that I got at Scrapfest crop this year. I am pleased with the results!

Sassy Lil Sketches #4

This is the last of the Crazy Cards Sketches at Sassy Lil Sketches However, thankfully they post a new sketch to play with the 14th of each month, so be sure to stop by and check it out---I know I will! I made one more Halloween card using this sketch to send out. I loved how this sketch had several elements to stack up, such as borders.

Sassy Lil Sketches #3

I decided to do a few Halloween cards to send out last minute. The sketches from Sassy Lil Sketches made my procrastination work out...and entered me in their contest! Two thumbs up! Here is my take on the 3rd sketch for October!

Sassy Lil Sketches #2

This is my card for the second sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches Blog!
These sketches are so versatile. I can see myself using them over and over again.

Sassy Lil Sketches #1

Hey guys! I found another fun challenge to play with over at Sassy Lil Sketches Blog! They posted a new sketch to create with each Monday in the month of October. Here is my take on sketch #1!

I used an actual picture from my trip this past summer to Powell Gardens. I used Zing embossing powder for my flourishes. I love the way it turned out!
I will post my cards for the remaining 3 sketches shortly!

Working away...if you can call it that :)

I have been creating constantly the past couple of weeks. I love that I have been inspired so much lately and been so motivated to get things accomplished...and actually been satisfied with the results!! Most of my last posts have been projects done for contests and challenges that I thought I would share some I did just for fun.

This is a LO I created of my time at our lake house. I love the kits at ScarletLime They include so many elements that are bright and fun.

I created this LO for the collage I have hanging on the wall in my scrapbook room. I used a regular piece of cardboard from a box as the background. I love the way it turned out with different areas torn. I am sure there will be much more projects soon as I am still on my creating streak!!

Scrapfit Color Contest

I participated in a challenge at For this challenge I was to create a page using lime, orange, black, and purple. Since I do not have any kids, I do not get many cute halloween pictures that I could have used for this challenge, so I decided to use these colors in a different way than that theme. This challenge is sponsored by http://www.littleblackdresskitclub.com/index.php! Hope you enjoy viewing my entry!

Big Sketch Contest at My Creative Scrapbook

I recently found another contest to give a shot! This one is at Each month for the next three months the girls are going to provide a new sketch for participants to create with!!! There will be a first prize winner, and lemme tell ya, that first prize is to die for,, picked for each month as well as two random winners drawn. There will also be a grand prize winner drawn for those that play all three months!!! I had lots of fun with the first sketch for October, trying out some new things.

The flowered background paper was originally an orange sketched look. I thought it needed a little something, so I went to work with my Stampin' Up watercolor pencils and spiced it up with a little pink, purple, and green. I loved the results so much! I didn't have another piece of this paper, I actually ended up free-handing the design on the corrdinating page and repeating the same watercolor technique.

I tried many different things with my title before being satisfied. I liked the green, but all of the stickers, paper, and other types of titling products I tried seemed to 2-D. I finally decided to pull out my trusty sizzix machine. I cut the letters twice out of regular cardboard(literally from a cut up cardboard box). I also cut the letters from green cardstock. After adhereing the layers with spray adhesive, I sanded the edges and added a tiny bit of orange ink.

For my journaling, I repeated the cardboard technique for added dimension. I typed the journaling using my old antique typewriter!! The journaling reads "I am so happy that we are so close. It is nice to know that I have a true friend I can always count on. Mallory is always there for me. We may be cousins, but we will also be friends."

I hope you enjoyed viewing my entry! Wish me luck, I would LOVE to get my hands on that amazing prize!!

NVS Girls Challenge!!

Spunky, fun, and yes nerdy! The Nerdy Victorious Scrapbookers have created a very fun challenge this month sponsored by . They featured an eclectic, nerdy, school-girlish collage of clothes and accessories with an amazing color and pattern scheme. I had a blast playing with these colors and channeling my inner nerd for this photo and LO.
This collage happened to use my favorite color scheme to use. I love the look of lime green, teal, and brown! I was so inspired by this collage, I created several different LOs. Thanks girls for the inspiration!

XOXO Girls Challenge

I have been a very busy bee creating delightful little projects for contests. I am so glad I have been getting back in to my scrapbooking. I was really missing my crafty hobby!! This is for a challenge I did with the XOXO girls. The challenge was to scraplift one of the design team members. I instantly fell in love with Sarah Webb's "Paradise Found" page and her use of white space with a burst of color. This design was a perfect color combination for my photo of my new scrapbook room! Thanks girls for the wonderful inspiration!Below are the links for Sarah's blog and the XOXO girls! Be sure to check them both out!

Get sketchy card contest!

I really enjoyed using the sketch from www.getsketchy.blogspot.com for their challenge this week. I can see myself using this sketch as a perfect go to when I need to make a quick card. It is so clean-lined and simple. I could easily adapt it and make it completely original too!

Trailmakers Banner Contest

I was super excited to participate in this LO challenge! I have seen banners used everywhere in the scrapbook industry but had not yet tried them myself. This challenged pushed me to create something new and get finished more pages from my birthday that I had been putting off!!! Hope you like my layout!
